In May 2014, Bethesda Softworks announced the production of a new third-person multiplayer action combat game called BattleCry. Revolving around melee combat with ranged gun fire, BattleCry has been on the mind of every gamer with hype increasing as time goes on.

Bethesda Softworks has been a dominant force in the video game industry for over 20 years. They are known for many hit titles such as The Elder Scrolls, Wolfenstein, Fallout, Doom, Call of Cathulhu among many more. When the world first got notice of BattleCry, they couldn't get enough!

This is the first game to come out of BattleCry Studios since it was first created back in 2012. BattleCry is being led by Rich Vogel, a long time veteran in the gaming industry who is best known for his titles Ultima Online, Star Wars: Galaxies along with many others.

"Take on the role of an elite warrior and engage in brutal, high-action, 32-player battles in a variety of gameplay modes."

Unlike most MOBAs, matches can have up to 32-player battles opposed to the typical 5v5 or 3v3. This in addition to the unique third person camera angle offer gamers a new experience within the MOBA atmosphere which has been greeted with nothing but open arms.

BattleCry is based in the early 20th century shortly after the Black Powder Treaty was signed which made it so no gunpowder could be used in war. This of course being meant in the traditional sense, soldiers now "fight with transformative weapons that harness iron and energy and eviscerate your opponents with swords that transform into shields, bows that can punch an arrow straight through an armored skull, or electrocute your foes with high powered blades crackling with electro-static energy."

What is Iron?
Iron is what allows you to progress your warrior and enables you to advance throughout the various ranks of the game. According to BC Studios,

"Each rank unlocks new abilities and effects, allowing deep strategic builds for your Warrior on every Level."

BattleCry gives you a brand new way to progress your warrior and come up with your own strategic builds. Iron, the game's currency

Another unique thing for BattleCry is how it brings the real world into a MOBA setting and uses history within the game. The various factions so far are the Royal Marines and Cossacks. Both contain the classes of Brawler, Gadgeteer, Duelist, Enforcer, and Tech Archer.

Who are the Royal Marines?
When the Black Powder Treaty came into existence, the United Kingdom picked the Royal Marines to represent themselves in the WarZones. According to the Factions section of the BattleCry website, the Royal Marines "see the Black Powder Treaty and WarZones as way to legitimize their Empire as is and hold onto it without the high costs of all-out war."

Who are the Cossacks?
The lore says that, "the Black Powder treaty gave the Cossacks a tremendous military advantage over their foes and their former lords." This led them to declare independence and rebel against the Russian and Polish kings. Following a tremendous victory, they took to the WarZones to fight the Royal Marines for control over the Bosphorus and the Black Sea.

BattleCry is the future of the gaming industry. Never before has a company developed a multiplayer action combat game; we are seeing a first which will definitely lead into a new era of gaming.

There is so much to say with so little space. If you have not enlisted for BattleCry, I would highly recommend taking a few minutes and checking it out. This game is going to be huge and we are only seeing the beginning.

BattleCry, a new team action game where brutality and beauty collide.
